PICS

To introduce integration issues in PICS applications and to develop an analysis method for PICS-based Internet information structure. The project is based on preview studies of current PICS and Metadata research and applications in the World Wide Web.

The Web information structuring can be viewed as a basis for contentlabel extraction. Finding information or document attributes - metadata - is a process of modelling the Web information. Focus will be on the development of such modelling method. Possible interest and support for developing rating services and rating systems will be explored through building a demonstrator of web information categorization and classification which can be used both for access control and as support for guided search.
